Hip Abduction - Machine

Set the machine for your height so that your knees are in line with your hips. If you are unsure please ask an instructor for help.

Push your legs slowly out to the sides as far as you can take them with control. Then slowly return your legs to the start position.


Do's Don'ts
  • Do keep your tummy tight
  • Do breathe out on the way out and in on the way in
  • Do keep the movement slow and controlled
  • Don't arch your back or lean forwards
  • Don't let the weight drop
  • Don't hold your breath
  • Don't select a weight that is too heavy for you
