Romanian Deadlift - Barbell

It is best practice to use a barbell stand rather than picking the barbell directly off the ground.

Hold the bar with your hands shoulder-width apart and facing towards you. Stand upright with your arms straight down by your sides and the barbell in front of you. Make sure you have a slight bend in your knees and lean forwards from your hips, keeping your back straight throughout the movement.

As you lean forwards push your bottom backwards allowing your knees to bend slightly. Only go as low as you can while still feeling in control and just before you feel any stretch in your back or hamstrings.

Once you are as low as you can go come back up in a slow controlled manner to the starting position, keeping your back straight all the way.

Do's Don'ts
