Preacher Curl - EZ Bar

Sitting on the preacher curl bench, adjusting the seat height so that the pad sits comfortably in your arm pit (if unsure ask an instructor for assistance).

Stand up and take the EZ bar in your hands, palms facing upwards and inwards slightly with your hands shoulder width apart. Curl the weight up so that the bar is up by your shoulders and sit back down.

Get into position and slowly lower the weight down until your arms are straight. Now curl your arms back up into your body keeping your upper arms firmly against the pads.


Do's Don'ts
  • Do sit down with the bar in your hands to get into position
  • Do keep your tummy tight
  • Do keep a slight bend in your elbows at the straighest point
  • Do breathe out on the way up and in on the way down
  • Do keep your upper arms against the pads throughout
  • Don't hold your breath
  • Don't let your bottom come off the seat
  • Don't use your body to help with the movement
  • Don't let your upper arms come off the pad
