Recumbant Bike

Set the distance of the seat far enough back so that your leg still has a slight bend at the knee when it is at its straightest.

Start peddling and set the program to quick start or manual. You should now be peddling at level 1. Get your speed up to at least 70 revolutions per minute (RPM) and maintain this speed throughout. Now start to put the level up one stage at a time. Give yourself a minute at each level to see if you can maintain the rpm.

The perfect level should push you physically but you can complete the amount of time you have set as your target.

Do's Don'ts
  • Do pick a level that pushes you
  • Do set the saddle up correctly
  • Do breathe deeply and in a controlled manner
  • Do keep your rpm at at least 70 rpm
  • Do keep your back against the seats back rest
  • Don't set the seat to far or close to the peddles
  • Don't lean forwards away from the back rest
  • Don't let your heart rate go above 80% of your maximum
